XML Primer

MathML is an application of XML that is a markup language constructed using the rules of XML. Hence, to properly understand MathML you need to know some XML concepts. This chapter reviews the key features of XML such as elements, attributes, entities, DTDs, and namespaces. If you are already familiar with XML, you can skip ahead to the next chapter.
